Bussilla ajeltiin noin puolentunnin matka Kings Canyonin vaellusreitin alkuun, josta aloitimme noin kuuden kilometrin kävelyn noin puoli seitsemältä auringon noustessa.

Näin ollen he eivät koskaan lepää rauhassa. Toki kunnioitimme heidän pyyntöään, koska olimmehan kylässä heidän kotonaan.

// The third day of the trip started at 5am, which was something I wouldn't do voluntarily do. After breakfast and packing the bus, it was time to head to Kings Canyon.
Before 7am we started our 6km hike in the canyon. It was an amazing experience and the views were spectacular. We took tons of photographs and listened the interesting stories our tour guide told us.
After spending about 4 hours hiking, we were very thankful to our guide for the early wake up, as the temperature was getting high. Finally we where back at our bus and started our journey towards Uluru.
On the way we stopped at Mount Connor and our tour guide tried to sell it to us as Uluru. I thought it a second and then I was sure that it couldn't be, because it was too geometric. On the same stop we saw a huge salt lake, which is evidence of the old inland ocean.
When we were back in the bus, everyone was looking out of the window and hoped to catch a glimpse of Uluru. Our tour guide promised a chocolate bar for the first one who stops the rock. It wasn't me in the end. I can't even describe the feeling when Uluru finally peaked from the horizon, just something magical.
We stopped to take some photos on the rock and headed to the cultural centre, where we explored the history and traditions that surround Uluru. We weren't allowed to take photos in there, because the aboriginals believe that if a picture is taken of them, a glimpse of they soul is trapped in the image. When they die, the part of the soul is still in the picture and they won't ever rest in peace. Because of this I think it is everyones responsibility to appreciate everyones wishes as there will be a very good reason behind it.
The evening was full of cooking, setting up the camp and watching the sunset that little bit disappointed us, because there was a little too heavy cloud cover.
After a long day it was time to go to sleep under the stars again. //
