Seikkailu alkoi noin puolentoista tunnin ajomatkalla Mossman Gorgeen, joka on osa Daintree kansallispuisto. Alue on palautettu muutemia vuosia sitten aboriginaaliheimolle, jolle se alunperin, ennen eurooppalaisia, kuului. He ovat rakentaneet sinne kulttuurikeskuksen, jossa vierailijat pääsevät tutustumaan heimon tapoihin ja rituaaleihin tarkemmin. Mekin saimme osallistua tervetuliaisseremoniaan, jossa kävelimme savun läpi. Tämän pitäisi karkoittaa kaikki pahat ajatukset ja tuntemukset pois.
|Learning how to hunt without success ;)|
|Finland has always a special place in my heart|
From there we continued our journey to a tour in the rainforest. After a while wondering in the forest we got to swim in the Mossman River. They said that it has the world's second clearest water in it and I believe it. It was absolutely amazing. I haven't see anything like that before and I wanted to stay there forever. The water tasted the same that it tastes at home in Finland. I was so happy ;)
Our host had to get us up from the water because we had to move on. We had lunch and then we headed to the beach. Another Indigenous tribe lives in that area and one of the member of that family taught us how to catch crabs with those "sticks". It didn't go very well and none of us caught anything besides the member of the tribe. We still enjoyed the afternoon sun, view and we got some nice pictures. So tourists! ;) //
